Mini Workouts to Try When You Are Procrastinating

When life gets in the way of working out, we tend to put other things ahead of working out. This can result in feelings of guilt as well as laziness. Instead of putting things off, it is much better to think of ways to fit exercise into our daily routine. The Five Mini Workouts (or FMW) are short, 15–20-minute workouts that can be done just about anywhere. They are designed to have minimal impact on your joints yet are energizing and effective.

What Is Procrastinating?

Procrastination is the act of putting off until the last minute something that needs to be done on time. It arises when an individual has too much to do and not enough time to do it all. Generally, the fear of failure causes people to delay completing tasks as they feel that they will disappoint themselves.

Another factor responsible for procrastination is the multiple distractions we all face in our lives. Apparently, life is full of distractions. Your boss orders you to work on a specific project; you have a friend you need to call; you’re in the middle of watching a movie or playing a video game, and before you know it, you’re sucked into the vortex of procrastination.

Five Mini Workouts When You Are Procrastinating

Take the stairs

Taking the stairs is an easy way to sneak in some exercise. It’s a great way to fit exercise into your day when you don’t feel like working out.

Sit on an exercise ball

Sitting on an exercise ball can help you stretch and strengthen your abs. It’s also a good way to release tension in other parts of your body and help combat back pain. It may feel strange at first, but it shouldn’t hurt if you’re sitting on the ball correctly.

Yoga

While yoga is a great form of exercise, it is challenging, and many people find that it isn’t easy to fit into their regular routine. However, just 15 minutes of yoga every day can show numerous health benefits.

Walking with your fur baby

Walking with your dog is a fantastic way to unwind after a long day. It’s also a weight-bearing activity that burns calories and tones muscles. Besides, it’s fun!

Stretching

Stretching has been proven to increase muscle flexibility, release tension, and improve posture. And it only takes a few minutes to stretch.

Procrastination is one of those things that can wreak havoc on your day and your life. While it may seem like such a small thing, it can really make it more difficult to manage your time, meet goals, and even make time for the things you really enjoy. And more often than not, it also leads to feelings of anger and frustration, which can influence the people around you quite negatively.

Procrastination isn’t something that happens to all people; but it certainly has the potential to damage anyone, especially when it creeps into our daily lives, without us even realizing it. Moreover, if you aren’t careful, it can also lead to obesity (yes, obesity is a procrastination issue), poor job performance, and additional emotional stress.

It can sound weird, but procrastination is the enemy of productivity. It is the reason why many of us hit the snooze button over and over, even after knowing that we could be late to work. And apparently, it is the reason why we’ll put off writing that essay because we’re waiting for inspiration to strike. And it is also the reason why we’ll put off that trip because we’re waiting for the perfect day.
